Adult individuals found within the registry are included solely by virtue of their conviction record and applicable state law.

The North Carolina Sex Offender Registration Program, a publication of the North Carolina Department of Justice, provides more detailed information about the state’s Sex Offender Registry.

First, the Texas Department of Public Safety (“TXDPS”) maintains a statewide sex offender registration database.

This database contains all information provided to Texas local law enforcement authorities by sex offenders required to register.

The National Sex Offender Public Registry website is coordinated by the Department of Justice and enables every citizen to search the latest information from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico for the identity and location of known sex offenders.

The information contained in the national registry and the state registries is identical; the national registry simply enables a search across multiple states.

A sex offender who fails to comply with any registration requirement is subject to felony prosecution.

Public notification of registered sex offenders is accomplished in several different ways.

There are many websites offering sex offender data for a fee.
